Swedish Massage –

Swedish Massage techniques are used for therapeutic and relaxation effects to minimize pain and discomfort and to relieve muscle tension in the body. These techniques are incorporated into a relaxation massage, sports massage and an injury/pain massage. Unlike Shiatsu (pressure-points) and/or Thai massage (stretching techniques) where a therapist manipulates you while on the floor, Swedish massage is designed specifically to enhance blood flow to the larger muscle groups of the entire body.

Pregnancy/Prenatal Massage –

Many women experience new types of pain and discomfort, or have existing conditions exacerbated by pregnancy. The effective massage therapy techniques provide relief of back and neck pain, the reduction of nerve entrapment syndromes and an overall decrease in tension. Getting a prenatal massage can be extremely beneficial to your physiological, psychological and emotional health throughout pregnancy.

ART (Active Release Technique) –

ART soft tissue management system is based on scientific evidence that muscles, nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissue develop adhesions within and between them as a result of various injuries that include: acute (sudden injury), cumulative (chronic injury) and pressure (due to poor posture). ART is performed with direct contact from the therapist to the patient’s skin. The therapist will find the area to be treated and either have the client actively move a body part or passively move the body part for the client. The therapist’s contact, coupled with the movement of the client, allows the adhesions to separate.

First Visit –

Before the first massage a short electronic confidential health history form will be filled out by the client. The client will be asked to arrive 10 minutes before the massage to discuss and decide the course of treatment. Afterwards, the appropriate self-care and frequency of therapy will be recommended in order to address the client’s goals and health concerns.

During Your Massage –

The massage treatment will be decided upon by the client and therapist. A variety of massage techniques will be used to address the soft tissue injuries and tension and the affected joints. The therapist will ensure there is a safe environment and that privacy is maintained throughout the treatment. Your comfort and pain tolerance will be respected during the entire massage.
